I've seen that dresses are getting shorter and shorter. I'm 44 and 5'7" and love to wear the latest styles. What do you think are the best length skirts and dresses for me to wear? The mini dress has certainly returned. And, at 5'7" you aren't going to get a longer look out of them, either. Remember that just-at-the-knee length is the best length for most legs.
There are creative ways to wear shorter hems: with tights, and with flats (or both.) Minis look good with flats at all ages, and should not be worn with pointy mid-heel pumps. A very high round toe wedge and a mini is a fashion forward look. There are sparkly medium weight tights that could work with a (modest) mini for a dressy look with dressy flats. If you have the legs for it.
Sophisticated mini dresses will work for you, too. Here's one.
BTW, other short looks, like "walking shorts" will support bare legs and high heels, too.
