Each season there are changes in the shapes and cuts of clothing, which I find difficult to discern. For example, skirt lengths get lower or higher; shapes get wider or narrower; lapels get larger or smaller. Most magazines just give information on overall trends (safari, hippy, etc.) but seldom provide the details to look for. I like to be current, especially with new purchases, so where can I go to find out these current details before I go shopping? Katz&D
Everyone needs to educate their eye before embarking on fashion purchases. And, the education is fun, too. First, watch the Runway shows, available at Elle. Although the view is fanciful, and the models superhuman, if you focus on the beauty, you'll learn what is predictable for the future. These looks will be translated into more practical ready-to-wear in a season or two, and your purchases will last longer if you appreciate the current styles instead of wasting your time (and money) on passed trends.
Then, spend some time on the New Arrival sections (not the Sale pages) of Fashion retailers like Neiman Marcus, SFA, Shop Bop,
JCrew& Zara. Observe the hemlines, silhouettes and color choices. Even if you are a budget shopper, you can learn from The Best
If you are looking for a fashion magazine with high learning potential for practical planning, try Lucky.
Good Luck, and Welcome!

How To Learn Styling

Add Sash?
Add Sash?
Hi there! Writing from Argentina, South America. I have a day wedding coming up and thinking of wearing this dress (please remember it is summer down here) I am thinking of using some kind of sash, belt, below the bust (think empire waist) but not sure about color/texture. Black is out of the question. I have seen the thin leather belt trend, or sort of braided leather cord (get my idea) but I don't know if it goes with this dress? Help! Thanks!

Hello Argentina!
I'm not sure that your dress can support a sash, it's designed for a straight drop with the embellished neckline and hem.
But you can try it. Go for an embellished metallic Belt.
or Sash (This one is Pricey!)
Don't add a braided belt; too casual.
You'll have to replace those terrific shoes with nude color strappy sandals if you add the waist accessory, or the outfit will be overloaded with tricky items.

LBD
Hi!
I really hope you can help me! I have a work party coming up next week (semi-formal) and I'm trying to save some money by wearing a plain LBD. I'd like to find some fun, budget friendly accessories/shoes (maybe a cool statement necklace or sparkly shrug?) to jazz up the dress and not hurt my wallet!
Any ideas?
KH
A Little Black Dress is excellent support for many different accessory vibes. I have an idea for something spectacular, but if you are toning it down for a work event, there are other options.
Lacy Heels
worn with
Lacy Tights.
This is a leg statement, so if you don't want to highlight yours, you can, instead, add a collar necklace:
Coral Burst
Stones and Metal
You don't want to mix these looks: Either the action is up at your neck, or down at the leg, so choose!
Add a small clutch, and your LBD is fit for the party.

Mosh Pit
hey there, O have two concerts coming up soon, one The Wanted, the other a much rockyer mosh pit kind of concer how can i get one out fit for both nights? HELP! x
Start with the outfit for the mosh pit, because it has some structural requirements: Flat boots; and top layer that you can move in, especially lifting your arms. Also, the top should include a double layer, in case the outer layer becomes torn, to provide coverage.
A fitted stretch jersey tank under, and a large wide neck shirt over that may expose the shoulder. Wear a black skirt and black tights. This outfit should work nicely for both events, too.
Dolman Top [Wear Over Tank!]
Flat Boots
